Mo Money, Mo Problems
You gotta weather the storm...
Money is freakin’ awesome. “Money can’t buy happiness” is a true saying, but it can certainly buy a ton of things that make me happy.
Golf. Boats. Beers. Delicious dinners. Golf. A sick house. Golf.

Even if golf means caddying
But truly, there are so many experiences and intangibles in life that money cannot help with at all.
That’s something everyone should remind themselves.
And also, remind yourself to enjoy the grind you are on as a young (maybe old) hustler.
Am I saying don’t go make a sh*t ton of money in your career and don’t try to pass Elon Musk on the net worth list? No. Absolutely go do that. That sounds very awesome. Everyone should aspire to get rich.
BUT don’t get angry or anxious if you’re not swimming in dough at your current position in your career.
The only situation you’re allowed to get angry with yourself is if you’re not happy with your “journey” you’re currently on. Do you love what you do?
If the daily grind of whatever you do doesn’t excite you, then find a new path.
If the people around you don’t make you smile and laugh, then find new friends.
Because that’s what this whole life thing is about. Having fun.
My friend Cael Schwartz writes a much better daily newsletter than this one called “Trust Fun” (Go sign up!). He’s a former Barstool employee that is now crushing it at Mugsy Jeans (Go buy some jeans!).
Cael was one of the true inspirations for me to even start this weekly newsletter thing.
His newsletter last week was one of my favorites and inspired me to touch on this topic about money.
Cael wrote about how getting hit with bank fraud made him realize how fragile and consuming money can be. A quote he found, “True wealth isn’t what you earn, it’s what you experience with the time you’re given”, that completely flipped his perspective.
His conclusion was that real success lies in balance. Working hard and preparing for your moment, but not letting the chase for money make you miss life itself. You need both: to build something meaningful and to enjoy it while you can.
Look, for my life, it’s no secret the sports industry doesn’t pay a ton of money.
You need to be a top dawg or own a business to control your own destiny.
But I am okay with that…
I absolutely love what I am doing, and every single day I wake up ready to go to war in the world of sports
I have strong, strong passions to get to that “top dawg” level and am enjoying the journey
But for now, I am very happy with where I’m at. I love the industry, and I love the company I work for, Shadow Lion.
I love the relationships I’ve made from sports. The experiences I’ve got to enjoy with too many pinch-me moments.

So yeah, I have a lot of friends making a lot more money than me, but that’s okay with me.
Again, I enjoy the journey I am on.
I enjoy the people I surround my life with and the hobbies (golf) I indulge in.
Go find that sh*t that you can say the same about.
Speaking of happiness, I just saw one of my best buddies get engaged last weekend!
