Did I Peak in High School? Yes.
But that's ok...
One Big (Old Man) Thing
Did I peak in high school?
Yes.
Am I upset about it?
No.

This past weekend I celebrated my 10-year High School reunion. Shoutout to The Governor’s Academy up in North Shore Mass. A fine institution!
I pretended I was a 15-year-old for 48 hours staying up late in our old dorm rooms. Besides waking up on a twin bed with no sheets in a very hot room very hungover, it was a great time.
Here’s a little vlog of the weekend after I was woken up at 7am by a bunch of 5K running alumni following a 4:16am bedtime on Friday night:
@dannyhealey High School was siiiiiiiiiiiick
We had a blast.
Oh, here’s a photo of me being an absolute chiefton (aka a-hole) in a senior year photo they had hanging up on campus where I am rocking a LeBron James jersey with a yellow lacrosse helmet without the facemask while riding a scooter flexing at the camera. So sick.

Yes, the dress code at Govs was a collared shirt and pants every day. Yes, I peaked in HS.
So, what is my reunion lesson besides understanding that I can’t drink as well as I did 10 years ago and I need 8 hours of sleep to function instead of 3???
It’s okay to be washed up and don’t cry ‘cause it’s over, smile ‘cause it happened.
When good things end, and they inevitably will, just be appreciative that the moment and success occurred. Don’t get depressed and upset that it’s over.
Living with this type of gratitude will make you a happier camper.
And I mean look, how much different is my current day life from 10 years ago.
Here I am, listening to everyone talk about their successful careers in finance or in this or that industry…
Meanwhile, the “football jock idiot guy” (me) that was posting photos on Instagram from Gillette Stadium pretending to be on the New England Patriots 10 years ago…
(yes, we won that game in Gillette to win our 4th league title in a row my senior year and is the reasoning I’m holding up 4 fingers)
is still posting photos on Instagram from Gilette Stadium pretending to be on the New England Patriots…
Can’t make this up. Am I embarrassed?
Well, no.
I am proudly still living in my fantasy football dreams of being a New England Patriot:

And I HOPE you all are living and doing things you’re passionate about.
Cause hey, if we’ve learned anything from this Diary the last few weeks, it’s BE AS YOU ARE!
Jokes aside, it was fantastic to see my class from the Govs squad this past weekend.
And again, this weekend was a reminder that I am f***ing old.
Really brings you back to Earth when you wake up from 10 tequila sodas in the same dorm room you lived in when you were 16 years old.
Speaking of 16 years old, and football, should I bring back the Fro-hawk?
I thought I was going to be sad this weekend being like “holy crap I am really old and maybe I did peak in HS and where has the time gone and what am I doing with my life moment”
BUT I will say this again because it’s important…
Don’t cry ‘cause it’s over, smile ‘cause it happened.
I think that actually works for a lot of things in life. And will certainly help you feel more grateful.
So yeah, high school was siiiiiiiiiick and the last ten years of my life have been awesome and fun, but it’s over now and I am old…
But I was sitting in that dorm room watching music videos from the early 2000s full of smiles instead of drunk tears knowing how great it’s all been, I am happy that I got to live and experience it.
Check in with me when I turn 30, may be a different story. I might be in a full panic by then questioning everything.

💰 Betting Corner
Last week I said, take the under on total points in the Game 1 of the Thunder / Pacers game. I hope you listened because it hit. Over the weekend I won 7 bets in a row. Your boy is HOT.
This week I am staying with the under, but switching sports and going to the ice rink.
Lock of the Week: Under 6.5 total goals in Panthers v. Oilers Stanley Cup Final Game 4 tomorrow night.
The over has hit in the first three games. That changes tomorrow.
