I am not a huge “TV show” guy.

Football season just completely dominates my television consumption. Plus, since I moved in with my girlfriend, if it’s not a sporting event on the screen, I have to settle for Summer House or Love Island.

Honestly though, great options for mindless drivel while I click-clack these diaries. Nothing gives you an inspiring deep thought like watching an Australian lady be forced to kiss her ex-boyfriend from the real world in front of another girl who is “coupled up with them”. Those Love Island producers are nuts.

But you know what, football season is winding down, and I only have two more Pats games left on the TV until next September.

Sooooo, on Tuesday night we randomly threw on Ted Lasso while we ate dinner (the GF makes a meaaaaan delicious turkey meatball dish).

We got about 1.5 episodes in, and boy I’ve never been so inspired by a Hollywood flick in my entire life.

This guy Ted, man. He is something else.

I know I’m late to this show. Came out in 2020 and been told 1,200 times I would look like it. But as I said, I don’t watch many shows.

I quickly learned Ted Lasso is an absolute genius that knows how to rally a team together like no other human on Earth.

When everyone wants to doubt you. When people hate you. Blindly for no reason at all. He does the unthinkable.

He kills ‘em with kindness.

Ted drowns out the negativity.

He fills the air, locker room, press conference, bar with positivity.

Even if it means doing it delusionally.

You might sound stupid. You might look dumb.

But it will become contagious.

An infection of pure joy takes over whoever is around you.

Again, I’m only 1.5 episodes in but I’ve seen what I need to see out of this guy.

He’s the ultimate standard of leadership.

Uniting people to accomplish a like-minded goal is one of the hardest things in the entire world to achieve.

I look forward to watching the rest of the Ted Lasso series. I’m sure it won’t be the only Diary he inspires in the next few weeks.

But first I’ll be a little busy… (CLICK THE AD SO I CAN BUY 1/20000th of a Super Bowl ticket.

Later today, I will board a flight that takes off for Denver, Colorado.

Why Denver you ask?

Well, dontcha know? The New England Patriots are officially back! We’re playing in the AFC Championship again, just 5 years after losing the Tom Brady.

What did we do as Boston sports fans to be so spoiled like this? I am not sure. But I am here for the ride.

Mike Vrabel reminds me a lot of Ted Lasso.

BUT I will not channel my inner Ted Lasso on this trip. When I land and see the color orange on any other side, it means blood.

This is war. The dark knight rises AGAIN. The New England Patriots are here. So, unless you’re joining the death star trip to Santa Clara…

Get lost! See you in your email inbox next week for another thriller!
