MLB Opening Day.
I wrote about March Madness last week, but this event is truly one of the more special moments in sports.
It’s a fresh beginning.

I took this last year. Very artsy, I know
While yes, March Madness offers a beacon of hope for the underdog of life to make a successful run like no other, it can also close on you really fast.
One slip-up in the round of 64 and BANG, you’re the head coach of North Carolina one day and changing your employment status on LinkedIn the next.
Tough scene for Hubert Davis, I do feel for the guy.
But that’s the difference with the MLB. There are 162 games in a season.
It’s a true marathon.
When that ump says “PLAY BALL!” for the first time, settle in and get ready for the long road ahead. Or are they robot umps now??
You cannot cheat a marathon. There’s no shortcut in 26.2 miles. You can’t just skip a few games in the 162-game schedule.
You have to fight through it.
It will be sh*tty at times.
You’ll fail along the way. You will f*** up a lot. And it’s good if you do, cause that means you’re actually trying.
I don’t care if you’re trying to build the next Amazon or just trying to get the kids to bed without a meltdown.
Enjoy the grind. PLAY the long game.
Not all of us can be the great Jimmy Tatro.
As Jimmy once said in his comedy sketch YouTube series 10 years ago, “I sprint marathons”.
Nor should you try to be the great Jimmy Tatro.
If your team loses three straight games weekend to open the season, you just gotta remember… there are somehow 159 games left in the race to October.
So, whatever your race is, just know it’s a long one.
Stay in the fight. One battle at a time. And save some gas for the final legs.
I trust my Red Sox will take on this mentality after this incredible hype video narrated by manager Alex Cora.
Big Sox guy.
Three years ago, I got a cold call from a Sox season ticket salesman. I never answer these damn calls, but they caught me on a walk and in a good mood.
Next thing I know, I did a tour of Fenway with this dude during the winter, and he got my John Hancock as I stared at a cold, empty ballpark.
Now before anyone insults me saying “How can he afford season tickets??? He didn’t even win his family fantasy football league that is 40% non-ball watching females”. It’s a 10-game package for two seats that I split with two other people. Still elite though.

It’s a fantastic time, up next to the Sam Adams deck and just the best on a warm Summer evening. Please enjoy this incredible music video by Kid Rock “All Summer Long” as you rock out into the weekend…
Speaking of beers and March Madness, enjoy the games this weekend. They are INCREDIBLE.
Also, click the link below so I can afford to drink 2 beers on Saturday while I watch the games, thanks:
