Sports are the most unifying force this beautiful world has to offer.

What we all witnessed on Sunday morning and what occurred over in Milan was something special.

I don’t care if you’re white, black, purple, green, male, female, liberal, or conservative, what the Team USA men’s AND women’s hockey teams did in the Olympics was unlike anything this country has ever seen.

We’ve never been such a divided nation in our 250-year history.

I am not a very political person.

I care more about the rigged voting of the 2025 NFL MVP Award screwing over Drake Maye than the presidential voter fraud from both parties over the last few elections. The real fraud was that guy who voted for Justin Herbert instead of Drake, but I digress.

The United States of America is a very special place to live.

I am grateful to be a part of this country, and I hope every single American watching that hockey game felt the exact same way when it ended.

Would be extremely strange if you didn’t!

It was refreshing to see the entire country unite around that Olympic victory Sunday morning.

This is what makes sports the great equalizer. There were no political distractions Sunday. Just hockey.

Now it doesn’t have to be this ridiculous national victory every time to be inspiring. Sports can unite countries but also states, cities, small towns or even just a group of 2 individuals.

Regardless of size, sports has a power unlike anything in this country.

And for that reason, I love sports and I love this country.

And I love Jack Hughes.

But wait a minute…

This unified feeling only lasted 24 hours before the internet and America tried to create a narrative about beef between the Women’s and Men's teams after President Donald Trump made a joke about the women’s team...

Then everything became political again.

Can we please just quit it with the made-up narratives for clicks on the internet?? Or worse, making up scenarios to get angry for no reason.

Yes, Donald Trump made a joke in the locker room and I understand he is the most hated man in the country by about 50% of the population, but don’t make this about the men's hockey team.

Every single interview the women have done since this “incident” has made it clear it was a misunderstanding. Trump made a joke he probably shouldn't have.

They are American heroes. And so are the women.

Every single interview the women have done since this “incident” has made it clear it was a misunderstanding.

Jack Hughes said the first person he thought of after scoring the goal was Megan Keller, the Golden Goal scorer for the women’s team (and my good friend! I used to produce her women's hockey podcast).

Then Meg said this in a press conference yesterday about the misunderstanding. All respect.

Jack and Quinn Hughes’ mother, Ellen, said it best in this clip on The Today Show. Reminder she’s a member of the women’s team as a coach.

The mutual respect for those two teams is endless.

So just drop it with the BS narratives that the men’s team are “horrible guys” for laughing at Trump’s joke.

In the moment after a win like that, it’s all smiles. Nothing can break your high.

It was such a beautiful day, and then it turned nasty.

X was a crazy place to be the last couple days.

But the people saying the men should apologize (which they have), that they’re “bad people”, and that they don’t respect the women’s team… you are flat out wrong.

So, in the end, sports does conquer all. A moment this country will never ever forget.

Now, regarding the actual game, I actually really enjoyed the 8am ET puck drop on Sunday.

Sports watching in the morning is cool.

I watched the first US goal from the comfort of my bed.

The second period was over a delicious American breakfast on the couch.

Then I watched the OT winner on my phone on my way to a gorgeous golf course and I went nuts when Hughes scored. Team USA then inspired me to play pretty well on the links.

I mean I went to the damn Super Bowl just a few weeks ago and the Ryder Cup earlier in the fall, and I don’t think I’ve watched a cooler sporting event than the 2026 Men’s Hockey Gold Medal game.

I actually tweeted out Sunday afternoon, post–gold medal victory, in my feels, saying I would’ve rather had this gold medal than the Pats win the Super Bowl this season if you told me I still get Drake Maye at 24-years-old.

I think I’m still serious about that take 5 days later. I will forever remember this game and it will be such a positive moment in the history of American sports.

Never mind all the great storylines from Team USA.

The Hughes brothers. Jack Hughes. Quinn Hughes. Quinn scored the OT winner in a quarterfinal game. Jack scored the Golden Goal and is now the most famous hockey player in the world.

Johnny Gaudreau was killed by a drunk driver last year. He would’ve been on this team and was very close friends with a lot of the guys. The team brought out his young kids to be a part of the team picture with the Gold Medals on the ice.

I cried when I saw this…

I interviewed Charlie McAvoy back on my podcast three years ago (RIP that show). Plus, I am a Bruins fan. Very, very happy to see him win gold as an Alternate Captain for Team USA. LFG Chuckie!

Also friendly with Jack Eichel, maybe the best player on Team USA. LFG Eichs!!!

Sunday night I was soooo in my feels I actually watched Miracle, and it was glorious.

Talk about uniting a country, that 1980 underdog victory over the USSR during the Cold War was truly more than a hockey game.

The win had such a positive effect on the country beyond just the players that received gold medals.

So, I just want to end with this.

Be thankful about where you came from. Be grateful for the United States of America.

And recognize sports as the great uniting force in this often-divided country and embrace the sporting atmosphere whether that be Team USA, your NFL team or local high school volleyball team.

There’s nothing quite like it.

There is also nothing quite like Athletic Greens. The fuel it takes to win gold. Click the below ad to feel what it’s like to win a Gold Medal (you don’t even have to buy it, just click!)
