Who's Got Your Back?
I got your back...
I slipped a disc in my back this past weekend. A pain I don’t wish upon my worst enemy (maybe besides anyone who roots for the Yankees. The Sox in a big playoff push rn).
Could barely walk as seen in this horrifying video.
Don’t get old folks. My back is f***ed

Luckily, I have a loving lady friend acting as my personal at-home nurse. Without her I’d be dead on the floor mad at myself that I never purchased the Life Alert “Help I’ve fallen and can’t get up” remote.
But I’m not writing this Diary to complain and have everyone Venmo me (@dannyhealey) for UberEats orders while my girlfriend is away on a work trip all week when I can’t even muster up the strength to walk to the kitchen for a meal 🙏🙏
What I am writing about is how important it is to find someone in your life that can be there for you when you’re at your lowest points.
One Big (Partner) Thing
Meet Johanna.

For one of our first dates, I brought her to a Patriots game. Pats were playing the Jets. When we got to the seats, she asked me which team the Patriots were.
That’s when I knew. She was the one. She knows ball!
Nah, but we’re working on it.
See, she loves sports!

I haven’t spoken enough about her in my own Diary.
Trying to protect from all of you to keep her a secret.
But I’ve learned a TON of the life lessons I’ve written about on this newsletter from her.
But, yeah, most recently she was there for me when I was at my lowest.
Driving me to multiple doctor appointments over the weekend canceling her plans, bringing me every meal to the couch (even though the pumpkin bread was burnt), allowing me to watch football for so many hours, and putting my socks on for me.
Johanna is my go-to hype man when I am low.
Now, I’m not saying you need to sprint to Hinge and find a lover.
Your “Johanna” doesn’t have to be a girlfriend or boyfriend. It could be a mentor, a family member, a best friend, or even a coworker.
You just need someone. A steady presence in your corner. Someone who can deliver advice, a laugh, or just a hug when you’re limping through life.
So, think about who that is for you. And if you struggle to come up with a human (dogs don’t count), it’d be smart to try and develop a relationship to that level of trust.
Life will eventually drop you flat on your ass.
Who’s got your back?
This was Johanna’s view all weekend:

And after waiting on me hand and foot all week, I thought there would be no better way to re-pay her than with a Diary feature. I mean does it get any better than that!! You’re welcome, honey.
