Picture this: Instead of Danny Healey’s voice, you’re listening to Head Coach of the New England Patriots Mike Vrabel.

It’s Sunday evening, about 3:15pm PST on a beautiful night in Santa Clara, California.

We just finished warm-ups, and there’s a nervous quietness in the locker room before we run out of the tunnel and compete for the Super Bowl.

We’re playing the heavily favored Seattle Seahawks.

Here’s my message to the team (and you as you sit at your desk job this week getting motivated to get better):

Fellas, look around this room for a second.

Everyone outside of it wants this run to end. They are tired of us. They are sick of the Patriots. They hate the dynasty because it reminds them that while they were talking, complaining, and making excuses, we were working.

They counted us out again. Of course they did. They always do. It makes them feel better. It helps them sleep at night.

This game is not about doing something crazy. It is not about being a hero. It is about being dependable. It is about doing the boring stuff right, over and over, while they lose their minds.

You do your job, the guy next to you does his job, and pretty soon the people who hate us most, become real quiet again. And that is my favorite sound in the world.

They think we are old news. They think the run is over. They think we are done.

Good.

Let them think that.

We know who we are. We know what this logo means. We know how this ends.

Sixty minutes. Be physical. Be smart. Be relentless.

Let’s go win a f*cking championship.

Pats on me, Pats of 3… 1,2,3 !!!

Well, whether you are Drake Maye, a Patriots super fan of 26-year-old working some tech sales job, this is for you.

Besides the “being physical” part, do NOT do that in your corporate office. Stay “smart” and “relentless”.
