Losing the Super Bowl was one of the lowest moments of my entire life.

I don’t blame Drake Maye. I don’t blame Mike Vrabel. I blame myself.

Today’s lesson is about accountability. And hand up, I take full responsibility for the loss.

I just quite frankly didn’t do enough.

I have now lost the Super Bowl a total of four times. And I have won it a total of six times 😈. But for some reason the losses sting more than the victories feel sweet.

It’s the competitor in me. I like winning, but I really hate losing.

2008 the Giants ruined our perfect season.

2012 Eli Manning did it again!

2018 Tom Brady played the greatest game of any NFL QB ever in the Super Bowl and still somehow lost. Fricken’ Nick Foles man.

2026 hit a little different. I was sitting in the stadium for this one.

I was at the Super Bowl victory over Seattle in 2015 when we actually beat the Seahawks.

So, I figured it was only right to be there to do my job AGAIN.

But I failed.

I simply didn’t get my guys ready. In the biggest game of our lives, I simply didn’t get them ready.

There were a lot of distractions out in San Francisco.

I got into SF early in the week for work. Had some great meetings, events, parties, and Radio Row was especially spectacular.

Side note, it was a cool moment to be a credentialed media member on Radio Row.

Met a legend of the game Jon Gruden when Brian Hoyer went to his hotel for an interview.

But you see, man. There lies the issue. Too many distractions. None of that should’ve mattered.

I went to SF with one goal in mind: WIN MY 7th SUPER BOWL.

It was different for the AFC Championship Game. Off the plane in Denver, there was a tone set. One goal in mind.

I had ‘em rolling in the Broncos game. I lifted them to victory. Full recap here if you’re looking for a more positive newsletter.

If you read that, clearly, I was there for football.

This time around, I wasn’t the sergeant general I needed to be out there in the battle.

Not even this video I posted of my girlfriend crowning me with my Starter jacket that did insane views across channels got the job done.

Instagram post

I know, incredible video. Shocked it didn’t work.

Had my first ever run in with the paparazzi too. This guy stopped me at the game and said, “Are you that guy with the Starter jacket hype video on Twitter?”. Why yes, I am.

Not even this choreographed handshake could get it done.

In the pregame, I literally Ubered to a Seahawks tailgate to specifically chirp Seahawks fans. It went well for a while. I took over the aux and played “Shipping Up to Boston” but I was eventually outnumbered.

When the game kicked off, there wasn’t much juice on our side.

To the credit of the Seahawks, the fans were loud.

Here is the actual live footage from my seats trying to get Patriots Nation going. As you can see, I am truly putting my effort into the game but it’s just not working.

I am still very proud of my 2025 Patriots team. We were 4-13 last year with a projected win total of 8 games this season. We smashed those expectations, won the AFC East and went to the damn Super Bowl.

I am very proud of this team.

But I am still very mad and sad for the time being. I will need a minute.

If I learned anything, it’s important to be accountable. Learn from your mistakes and grow from them.

I WILL GET BETTER.

This loss will motivate me. I will improve in the areas that ultimately led to our demise.

I ask you to look yourself in the mirror and see what you should work on this offseason to improve your team.

The only positive of the trip was me popping my In-N-Out Burger cherry. It was damn good.

The internet is a funny place, IDK how these things get 650K views on Twitter.

Again, another distraction. I will be better.

WE will be better.

Have a nice weekend.
